If there is one habit that has made the biggest difference in my sales career, it is consistent, thoughtful follow-up.
When people look back at deals that almost happened. Good conversations, great buying signals, proposals sent, then everything goes quiet.

And that?s the thing. Follow-up isn't glamorous or exciting, and it rarely gets the spotlight, but it's where most sales are won or lost.

Working with businesses, I see the same pattern again and again. Great conversations happen ... and then nothing.

A proposal goes out and it's radio silence. The assumption being, "If they were serious, they'd come to us. But that is not how real buying decisions work.

People are busy. They are juggling other priorities. They get cold feet.

Your job isn't to pressure them, it is to stay present, helpful, and relevant.

And here is the part most people miss

 - Follow-up isn't just about checking in

 - It is about adding value after the first meeting

 - It is showing that you listened, understood, and are still thinking about how to help

The best salespeople I have worked with don't follow up once or twice. They do it consistently and with purpose, long after everyone else has moved on.

Following up isn't a hassle , it is part of building trust. Spend an hour and let's banish poor follow up to 2025 and make 2026 a stellar year.
